NFF crisis: Danagogo begs Baribote to withdraw case

As a direct response to the demand of FIFA for all court processes be withdrawn before it could lift the suspension it slammed on Nigeria football, Minister and Chairman National Sports Commission Tammy Danagogo has appealed to Ebiakpo Baribote wife of Rumson Baribote to withdraw the case she filed at Jos High court.

In a statement in Abuja, the minister assured all Nigerians that the federal government will stop at nothing to ensure the suspension is lifted promising to address grievances of aggrieved football stakeholders, including corruption allegations and highhandedness leveled against the NFF leadership.

Danagogo said he will set in motion action to ensure the court matter is withdrawn. The NSC he said will back the  Nigeria Olympic committee to set up court of arbitration to forestall situation where the NFF leadership does not trample on rights of citizens thereby forcing stakeholders to resort to the law court.

The minister also vowed government determination to get to the root of alleged unbridled corruption in the NFF overtime and bring culprits to justice.

He restated the far from issue of interference, that motive of government is to ensure that sanity prevail in all sports federations and funds deployed for the development of sports are judiciously utilized by those entrusted with the responsibility.
